Why you’ll make the change
Simple & Effective: Simplify your wash day with our “no conditioner” routine, which delivers exceptional results rivalling any "perceived" luxury liquid haircare.
Ingenious Design: Hairpip's design, featuring concentrated, small-portioned breakaway pips, prevents your solid shampoo from disintegrating prematurely in the shower. The design also makes it convenient to pop a pip in your bag for your next shower… not at home—and they double as body wash and shave bars.
Mindful & Conscious: Crafted for the health-conscious, ensuring what goes on your skin (scalp) is safe, natural and full of vitamins and minerals.
Sustainability & Values
Resourceful & Sustainable: The best ingredients are packed into one zero-waste product. Hairpip’s packaging is recyclable and compostable cardboard, with no plastic, over-packaging, or unnecessary carbon footprint.
Community-Driven: Hairpip is proudly Australian-made, and $1 from every purchase goes to Carbon Positive Australia, which supports reforestation, carbon offsetting, and community empowerment.
How Hairpip works
- Break away a pip and take to the shower only what you need.
- Rub the pip between your wet hands to activate and get a good lather. With wet hair and while still holding the pip in the palm of your hand, apply in a circular motion to your hairline and crown to build a good lather.
- When you have a good lather, put the pip down and finger tip massage the scalp (not hair) moving the lather around the whole scalp.
- Rinse and repeat (only if you didn’t get a good lather)
When to use
Only when needed. Let your scalp regulate naturally.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why make the switch to solid state haircare?
It’s simple … hair growth and health (for you and the environment) without compromising on quality … and the confidence you have knowing this is unquestionable.
Switching to a Hairpip solid shampoo bar offers a multitude of benefits that make it a smart choice for both your hair and the environment. Unlike traditional liquid shampoos, Hairpip comes in a cardboard box and not single-use plastic, helping to reduce waste and lessen your environmental impact. Our bars are highly concentrated, which means they last longer and provide more washes per unit, saving you money in the long run. Their compact, travel-friendly design makes them ideal for on-the-go use, while their often natural and eco-friendly ingredients promote healthier hair without unnecessary additives. By making the switch to a solid shampoo bar, you’re not only adopting a more sustainable beauty routine but also enjoying a more efficient and cost-effective hair care solution.
Does Hairpip work as well as liquid shampoo?
Yes, maybe better. Haipip has removed the water from the formulation, leaving only a good, preservative-free concentrate. When rubbed with water, it lathers beautifully to cleanse and feed the scalp. With your scalp healthy … you’ll have healthy hair in no time.
Do you have samples?
Unfortunately, we do not have any samples at this stage, but happy to give you a full refund if you have given Hairpip a good go and it truly isn't for you.
Which is the best bar for my hair type?
All Hairpip formulas are the same … no matter your type. The only difference is the scent. That’s why we are here … we are uncomplicating haircare and making it simple.
I have a lot of hair, can I still use Hairpip?
It doesn't matter how much hair you have because we encourage you to wash your scalp (not your hair) and everyones scalp is about the same size.
Wish that I could afford Hairpip
The initial investment may be a little tight, but remember … if you only wash once or twice a week (and this gets less) and dry your pip out in between uses … one block can last nearly a year AND you don’t need to buy conditioner.
Will it work straight away?
Depending on what you’ve been using in the past, some will see results after the first wash, and others may need a little detox adjustment period. Remember NOT to use conditioner … that just dirties it again.
What is a pip?
Inspired by the shampoo bar, but done differently. We wanted to have small portions, just like chocolate and its satisfying sensation of breaking away one square at a time. Hairpip needed a name for these portions, so the "pip" was born.
How long does one block last?
There are 24 pips in each block and although each pip is designed for single use, one pip can be used 3 to 4 times (more for balanced hair) if kept dry in between uses. If you wash twice a week then one block could potentially last you just short of a year!
How do I best store the Bar?
Just break away only what you need to take to the shower; the rest of the bar stays dry in its artwork box in the bathroom cupboard. As the formula doesn’t contain any preservatives, you want to avoid letting the pips sit in water to break down prematurely or soften.
I have fine, coloured hair and want to grow it long, I need some confidence that without conditioner my hair wont dry out and split?
It feels weird at first not using conditioner but when using Hairpip (not other shampoos) you don’t need conditioner. For hair growth we need to nurture the scalp and the follicles so they are healthy. Conditioner will just clog up these pores again.
Is Hairpip Vegan?
Yes- plant beauties
Is Hairpip safe for Colour Treated hair?
Yes, in fact, you will be washing your hair less, so the colour will stay longer.
Where did the name pip come from?
Breaking away a “square” for the small portions wasn’t cutting it (because they were rectangles!) so we named the portion “pip”, which is also affectionately used in the chocolate industry.
What is their shelf life?
As long as the pips are not in contact with water they can last for years on the shelf or cupboard.
